We rescheduled this hike because it was cancelled in December due to rain. This is a difficult and challenging hike in NW Davies Valley near Ocotillo. It’s a 5-6 mile hike (approximately 1800 feet elevation gain/loss) that will take about 5 hours. The hike involves hiking off trail, some boulder climbing, hiking up steep sandy hills, plus other rugged desert terrain challenges. It’s a strenuous hike, but you’ll later be able to point to the “Sand Dune in the Sky” from I-8 to show your friends and family where you hiked!

• Leaves at 8:00 AM from the Imperial Valley Desert Museum parking lot in Ocotillo. We will carpool/caravan in high-clearance vehicles to the trailhead.
