This is a challenging 5-mile trek into the Jacumba Wilderness. It includes strenuous bouldering and hiking up sandy creek beds and steep trails to get from Myer Creek to the old homesites of Happy who once lived in this remote high desert area. Leaves from IVDM parking lot at 8:00 am (or if coming from San Diego, meet at Mountain Springs Exit off I-8 in the dirt parking area at 8:20 am) to carpool in high-clearance vehicles to the trailhead.
