Imperial Valley Desert Museum (IVDM) is excited to announce that we have been awarded a Far South/Border North grant. Far South/Border North is a program of the City of San Diego and its regional partners, including Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties, San Diego Regional Arts and Culture Coalition, and The San Diego Foundation. This program is funded in part by a California Creative Corps grant from the California Arts Council, a state agency with additional support made possible by The Conrad Prebys Foundation.

As part of this grant, IVDM is hosting an open call for mural and exterior sculpture artists to submit designs they'd like to create and display permanently at IVDM.

IVDM is looking for 3-4 artists to create installations that examine key concepts related to social justice issues faced by indigenous communities including land rights, cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, and decolonization efforts.
