Hike Leader: Mike Rood

This is a beautiful and adventurous hike into the Jacumba Wilderness to the seldom-explored corner of NE Davies Valley. We will hike approximately 5 miles through sandy washes, small slot canyons, and canyons with towering walls. Some areas are steep with slippery rocks. Note: This is our last hike of the season, so please join us for a few provided snacks afterwards. You’re also welcome to bring snacks to share with the group! Leaves from IVDM parking lot at 8:00 AM. We will carpool or caravan to the trailhead in high-clearance vehicles.

Please Note: While we do our best to accurately describe the hikes and their difficulty levels, please know your own limits and capabilities! A hike that is easy or moderate for some may be difficult or extreme for other depending on hiking experience, skill level, and physical capabilities. Also, please be prepared! Hiking shoes with good traction, 2-3 liters of water, and a backpack to carry your water, snacks, and gear are essential items on these challenging hikes. Hiking/Trekking poles are also helpful for some.
